Sgibbt is a journal that begins with a colour. You give the day one — a single tap — and write only if you feel like it. Over time those colours fill a calendar, and a year of feeling takes shape without you having to keep up a daily writing habit.
What it does
- A colour a day. Six to start with — Calm, Bright, Tender, Content, Dreamy and Heavy — and twelve more you can add when six stop being enough.
- Writing is optional. A title, a paragraph, or neither. A prompt library is there on the days the page feels blank, and you can write your own prompts or switch the daily prompt off entirely.
- Voice notes. For the days typing is too much. They save with the page and sync with it.
- A calendar that fills in. Every colour lands on the month grid, so a year becomes something you can look at.
- A monthly summary. Your colour spread, pages written, days coloured, and one sentence describing the mix. Nothing is scored.
- Your words. Rename any colour and the whole app follows, exports included.
- Private by default. Your journal lives in your own iCloud. With Plus you can lock it behind Face ID and export everything as plain text.
Sgibbt Plus
The daily loop is free for as long as you use the app: today's colour and today's page are never gated. Free also gives you a page a day, five voice notes, two months of colour history and the current month's summary. Plus lifts every one of those — unlimited pages and voice notes, your whole history, a summary for every month, the twelve extra colours, app lock and export. It is available weekly, yearly, or once for life.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to write every day?▾
No. The app is built around the opposite assumption. Giving the day a colour takes one tap and is the whole daily action; writing is always optional.
Is there a streak?▾
Yes, a gentle one. It counts the days you have coloured in a row, and it does not drop to zero merely because today is still blank — it waits for you. If you miss a day entirely the run does end and the count starts again, but nothing is lost by that: your entries and colours stay exactly where they are, and no score, badge or level is attached to it.
Where is my journal stored?▾
In your own iCloud account, synced by Apple between your iPhone and iPad. Your entries are not sent to us and we operate no server that can read them. If you are signed out of iCloud, the journal simply stays on the device.
Can I lock the app?▾
Yes. Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode can be required each time the app returns from the background. This is a Sgibbt Plus feature, and it needs a device passcode to be set.
Can I get my writing out?▾
Yes. Export produces a plain-text file of every page, newest day first, using your own names for the colours. Voice recordings are not included in that file — it marks where one was. Export is a Sgibbt Plus feature.
What does the monthly summary actually tell me?▾
It shows the spread of colours you used, how many pages you wrote, how many days you coloured, and one sentence describing the mix — whether one colour led, two shared the month, or it stayed varied. It sometimes notes a change from the month before. It does not interpret you and it does not score you.
What happens to my entries if I stop paying for Plus?▾
Nothing is deleted. You keep every page and every colour you have already recorded, and you can still colour today and write today's page. What stops is the extras — unlimited pages per day, new voice notes, browsing history older than about two months, summaries for past months, adding new colours, app lock and export. Voice notes and palette colours you already have stay usable.
Why only six colours to begin with?▾
Because a palette handed over full asks you to shop, and a palette you grow is one you chose. Six covers the broad feelings most days fall into, and renaming covers the near-misses. When you genuinely need more, twelve further colours are there to add.
Can I rename a colour?▾
Yes, any of them. Renaming is display-only, so it can never rewrite your history or disturb the calendar — your exports use your names too.
Does Sgibbt work offline?▾
Yes. Everything works without a connection. iCloud sync catches up whenever you are back online.
Do you collect analytics or show ads?▾
There are no ads and no advertising SDK, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites. There is one piece of analytics: Sgibbt uses RevenueCat to see how subscriptions are doing — starts, renewals, cancellations and revenue. It receives purchase events and basic device information tied to a random identifier, never anything you write. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is sent.
