About the app & frequently asked questions

QRPal is an all-in-one app for creating, customizing, and scanning QR codes and barcodes. Generate more than 20 types of code, design them with custom colors, shapes, and a logo, and export as SVG, PDF, or high-resolution PNG — then scan with your camera or from a photo. Everything you scan or create is saved to a searchable history, and your data stays on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an internet connection?
No. Scanning and creating codes work offline. An internet connection is only needed if you choose to open a link or look up a product from a scanned code.
Is my data private?
Yes. The app doesn’t require an account, and your scans, created codes, and personal content stay on your device — we don’t upload or sell them. The only data that leaves your device is your purchase information — handled by Apple to process payments, and by RevenueCat for sales analytics and ad attribution. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What can I scan?
QR codes and many barcode types, including Aztec, PDF417, Data Matrix, EAN-13/8, UPC-E, Code 39/93/128, and ITF-14. You can scan with the camera or from a photo in your library.
Is it safe to scan any QR code?
Scanning a code is safe in itself, but be mindful of what it contains before acting on it. A QR code or barcode can hide a link, and that link could lead to a phishing page, malware, or other harmful or unwanted content. QRPal shows you a code’s decoded content and lets you choose whether to open a link or take an action — it never does so automatically. Only open links or follow codes from sources you trust, and check the address before you continue.
What types of QR code can I create?
More than 20, including Wi‑Fi, contact cards (vCard), calendar events, locations, email, SMS, phone, plain text, and links to popular social platforms.
Can I create many codes at once?
Yes. Use Bulk Generate to import a CSV file and create a code for each row.
Can I customize how a code looks?
Yes. Choose colors, gradients, dot and eye shapes, and add a logo in the center, or apply a ready-made design with one tap. A live preview shows whether the code is still scannable.
What export formats are supported?
High-resolution PNG (up to 4096 px), scalable SVG, and print-ready PDF, with an optional transparent background.
Why does the app ask for camera, photos, contacts, or calendar access?
Camera and photos are used for scanning; contacts and calendar are used only when you choose to save a contact or add an event from a code. You can manage these anytime in Settings.
What’s included for free, and what’s premium?
You can scan and create codes for free. Premium unlocks features such as advanced customization, design presets, vector and print export, bulk generation, and unlimited history. Premium is available as a subscription or a one-time purchase.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID in your device’s Settings. You can also restore a previous purchase from within the app.
